The Office of University Budgets' staff have developed several training sessions for campus users to learn more about budgets and the budgeting process.
Office of University Budgets offers Certificate in Budgeting
Certificate in Budgeting: In order to receive a Certificate in Budgeting, you must complete the following three classes: Where does the money go?, Budget Basics, and Budget Transfer and Reports. Please note that the Certificate in Budgeting does not grant you access to Online BT processing, you must attend Online BT training separate from the 3 classes needed for the Certificate in Budgeting.
- Where does the money go? 2018 This workshop is designed to present an overview of UWF's budget, what revenue sources make up the university's income, and how the funds from the revenue sources are allocated and expended. Various websites will be provided as helpful budget tools which can be used daily.
- Budget Basics Learn the basics about UWF budgets. How the budget is established, transferred, and managed. We will be exploring the annual Operating Budget Book and Schedule C. For the powerpoint used in this class, Budget Basics and Glossary of Terms.
- Budget Transfer & Reports In this class we will be reviewing Budget Transfer rules and limitations. And we will also be exploring Information Navigator reports used as tools to help manage your department budgets. For the powerpoint used in this class, Budget Transfers & Reports.
- Online BT Training This training is provided twice per year for those employees that have been identified by their budget managers as having a need to be either a budget transfer initiator, approver, or both in our Banner Production System. To enroll in this class your supervisor must email email@example.com requesting you be trained as either an initiator, an approver, or both. The prospective trainee must have completed Banner Basics, Budget Basics, and Budget Transfer Overview and Reports before they can attend this class.
