A lot of our work is often research-based work, but it’s also application-based work. So, there is a lot of things I can use which can help me further my academic career if I want to pursue a doctorate degree, but I’ve also come to realize that all the work that we are doing can be utilized in my current stage for my professional career as well.

On top of the library, I’ve also be utilizing the Office of Equity and Diversity. Through their work I’ve been able to establish a deeper understanding of how I can be a better advocate as well as a better ally for the different identity-based programs here on campus, but also for those outside of the campus community. So, just utilizing their work, their knowledge, and also just using that platform to not only elevate my own platform, but also to just speak eloquently about the work that they are doing and how they can be used to tie into the communication work that I’m studying to better help society. 

Honestly, it’s been one of the best experiences that I’ve ever had whether it’s still with my professional career or just my personal career as well. I’ve been able to really establish who I am as a person, and where I want to go in my career. Being able to network and being able to just build these relationships has really refined who I want to be. The goals that I’ve set, I’ve actually succeeded in meeting those goals and have established new goals which I’m hoping to meet and also just exceed expectations and I owe that all to this program.
