We have an undergraduate bachelor's degree in health sciences. Undergraduate students can choose three different tracks within that. The first one is just sort of a general Health Science degree and students who choose this are either interested in completing a degree in Health Sciences. Some of them also want to pursue graduate work in occupational therapy. Perhaps they want to go on and complete an accelerated nursing program. Then we have two specializations within the Health Sciences tract so the first one is Healthcare Administration so this would be a Health Science specialization and Healthcare Administration. The Healthcare Administration is basically the leadership management the administration of hospitals healthcare systems nursing homes, insurance companies and students go on to work in jobs like human resource management within those organizations they can go on to become a clinic coordinator they can go on to work in a compliance office or they can go into something like public health administration. [Lindcy Sicar speaking] As a freshman here at the University of West Florida, I already knew that I wanted to pursue health sciences especially the administration portion so as soon as I was finished with you know my prerequisites my advisor she went right ahead and just started to course me on how to complete my degree most efficiently as possible. I was able to network and meet different people within the healthcare organization which led to a job opportunity. [Angela Hahn Hennick speaking] We have a master's degree in Healthcare Administration, which is called an MHA. Our MHA is completely online and it is targeted to individuals who are already working in middle management within healthcare organization of some sort who want to go ahead and advance and promote in their field.
