I’ve been presented with learning opportunities I never thought possible.

The Supply Chain Logistics Association (SCLA) really helped me to discover my interest in the field of business. After taking an Introduction to Supply Chain Class at UWF, I could connect what I was learning in the classroom to what is happening in the logistics field. My professor took our class on multiple tours of different facilities so we could experience real-life logistics in action. I was also able to be a part of the Denver Competition team (for Logistics) where I could analyze a real-world transportation issue and present a proposed solution with the rest of my team to professionals currently working in the Logistics field. Through these experiences, I have discovered my strengths, weaknesses, and learned to grown in unfamiliar circumstances.

The rising workforce is breaking boundaries and driving a paradigm shift. Students are bold, thinking outside of the box, and moving with purpose. While some are afraid to hire millennials, there is nothing to fear. Our professors have equipped us well and we are hungry for knowledge to change the future.

From a young age, I knew a career in cybersecurity was going to be my future.

I would spend hours researching computer viruses and learning how computers work. Today, I’m the President for the UWF chapter of The Association for Computing Machinery’s Women in Computing club, and I am currently doing research under my professor in Internet of Things security. In the summer of 2017, I completed a 10-week paid cybersecurity research project at the University of Oakland in Michigan. I also volunteered for the 2018 Science Olympiad event here at UWF, and am volunteering at the upcoming Cyber Saturday event.

I'm a highly motivated problem solver looking for a career that will always be challenging and interesting. I want a job that will allow me to protect the information of people and allow me to secure the systems that we use every day.

I’m proud of the fact that I will have done three rotations of Experiential Learning in Manufacturing Engineering at General Electric well before I graduate.

Hands-on experience in a work environment has given me knowledge far beyond the classroom. I’ve led projects that directly impacted an assembly process with teams up to fifteen people, worked directly with technicians to design and implement projects and maintained up-to-date manufacturing instructions. I have also assisted other engineers with doing background work for new product integration including developing work instructions, designing tools to fit certain applications, and communicating upcoming changes to technicians.

I have made the President’s List and the Dean’s List while taking upper level Electrical Engineering courses, which I think is a big accomplishment. Today, I am a member of Society of Women Engineers for the UWF Chapter and nationally, and the Treasurer of the UWF Chapter of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and a member nationally.

My ideal career will constantly push me to my limits, further my education, and help me grow as a healthcare professional.

Since attending the University of West Florida, I’ve had so many opportunities to participate in research and help create initiatives that make an impact. Prior to starting the nursing program, I began research through the Office of Undergraduate Research, and was mentored by professors that allowed me to participate in literature review tables, co-author research articles and present at the Student Scholars Symposium. I helped create a Breast Cancer Symposium, and have been active in many community activities such as community garden work and a foot care for the homeless event through the nursing program.

I am very passionate about the well-being of others, and I am eager to learn—nothing makes me happier than giving to others and seeing the happiness on their face. I would love to work in a fast-paced pediatric clinic or labor and delivery floor, aspiring to become an OBGYN and open my own clinic one day.

I'm not afraid to question old ways to find better methods for the future.

My organization skills and problem-solving abilities are the two main reasons I know that I would be a great employee. I have been a vital member of a project start-up team at General Electric Renewable Energy, and was the Operations Leader for the moving-line start up. This project questioned typical, dated methods and moved to faster, leaner means of manufacturing. For this project, my team won a "Best of the Best" award from General Electric in the fourth quarter of 2017 in the category of “Transforming the Way We Work.”

My strength comes from being a part of a larger team with a united goal. I've always been a strong, hard-working contributor for any team I've had to opportunity to be on. I'm confident in my knowledge of the field and not afraid to go above and beyond to learn what I need to fit well within a company.
