STEM Lab Tour

In partnership with Gulf Coast Science Festival, UWF's Hal Marcus College of Science and Engineering (HMCSE) will offer STEM Open Lab Tours. The tours are designed for Escambia and Santa Rosa County sophomore and junior high school students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) careers.

STEM LAB

In partnership with Gulf Coast Science Festival, UWF's Hal Marcus College of Science and Engineering (HMCSE) will offer STEM Open Lab Tours. The tours are designed for Escambia and Santa Rosa County sophomore and junior high school students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) careers.  The aim of UWF's Open lab tours is to introduce students to commonly used scientific tests in STEM majors offered at UWF. More importantly, students will experience the benefits of attending and graduating with STEM degree from Hal Marcus College of Science and Engineering. 

The tours last up to 20 minutes and will be led by current UWF students and faculty in HMCSE and consist of the following:

  1.  A 15-minute “hands-on” laboratory demonstration and overview of the scientific rationale  (See short descriptions of these tests below).
  2.  A 5-minute summary and question and answer period designed to allow students to learn more about the facilities and programs offered by HMCSE

Registration

Schools can register their student groups on the form below. We are limited to 20 student groups for this event and priority is given on a first come first serve basis. Groups must not exceed 20 students due to limited lab space. Confirmation of your group, tour times, parking and meeting location will be sent to the email address indicated on your registration form within one week of registration.
