Healthy Community Environment
UWF is engaged with area business and civic leaders to promote a healthier and safer community. UWF is embedded in Northwest Florida and benefits from its interdependent relationships. As employees and students commute into and out of UWF locations each day, the University will continue its efforts to mitigate transmission of COVID-19 in coordination with business and civic leaders.
UWF has contacted leadership from the City of Pensacola, Escambia County, Greater Pensacola Chamber of Commerce, Pensacola Downtown Improvement Board, Santa Rosa County and the Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce to secure written acknowledgment of a shared responsibility to protect the health and well-being of the community.
The University is working with organizations to develop a database of businesses that follow CDC and state guidelines for health and safety. UWF will cross-promote with these establishments with the health and safety of its students in mind.
Visitors, vendors and volunteers are permitted at UWF locations, but they are required to comply with guidelines and protocols that promote a safer and healthier campus. For more information on visitor guidelines and protocols, please view the Visitor Compliance page.
