Discovering Luna's World

July 11, 2022

Camp Description

Discover clues and learn about life in early Pensacola with professional historians and archeologists from UWF. Engage in experimental investigations, historical research, hands-on activities, and real archeology and history during site tours. Focusing on a real-life approach to uncovering the past, Discovering Luna’s World draws from all STEAM disciplines to encourage curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving!

Led by Don Tristán de Luna, the first Spanish settlers in Pensacola braved the Gulf of Mexico and trusted their lives to an unknown land and future. A terrible hurricane destroyed Luna’s settlement shortly after the founding. Clues to this lost colonial past surround us today. Join us for a week of discovery!
