Mr. Steve Riggs believes in pairing cutting-edge technologies with tried and true business values. With more than 39 years of experience in the accounting profession, he uses this philosophy to deliver innovative accounting solutions designed to improve efficiencies and profitability for Destin clients — including homeowner association audit clients, employee benefit plan audit clients, and governmental audit clients. He also serves as partner-in-charge of the Destin office.
Mr. Riggs’s personal client work typically relates to litigation support and court-appointed receiver work as he serves as both a consulting expert and testifying expert witness at trials involving financial matters. His work often focuses on economic damages – either performing calculations on behalf of plaintiffs or assessing calculations of other experts on behalf of defendants. His expertise spans across business fraud, antitrust, breach of contract, and estate, trust, and probate cases, as well as tax-related IRS disputes.
Mr. Riggs is active in the accounting community with current roles including service on the Florida Board of Accountancy. Additionally, Mr. Riggs is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA), and the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA).
