Biography

Valerie Read is Director of Universal Orlando Foundation and Community Relations. In her role, she develops fundraising and grantmaking strategies for the Universal Orlando Foundation, which has awarded over $27 million in grants to the Central Florida community since 1998. Valerie also oversees Universal Orlando Resort’s charitable in-kind donations and compassion partnerships. As a representative of Universal, she is responsible for establishing and strengthening interpersonal relationships with key community influencers and non-profit partners. Prior to her current role, Valerie held positions with various non-profit organizations including Valencia College Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs of America and High Museum of Art.

Valerie graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History and English, and earned a Master’s Degree in Non-Profit Arts Administration from New York University. Her passions include serving her hometown community, rescuing pugs and enjoying Florida’s beautiful beaches with her husband and daughter.
