Dr. Stacy Chambers

Biography

Dr. Stacy Chambers serves as the Superintendent of Florida State University Schools. Bringing over 30 years of experience, she currently leads Florida State University’s highly acclaimed lab school, Florida State University Schools (FSUS). She also serves as the FSU Legislative Liaison for FSUS and works closely with FSU’s College of Education as part of their Deans and Chairs Committee.

As an experienced educational and community leader, Dr. Chambers has focused her work on closing the equity, achievement and access gap of students from all walks of life. Since beginning her work at FSUS, the district has experienced unprecedented growth in student achievement and in campus development. Working with FSU and Florida community leaders, Dr. Chambers led campus development of a new 76,000 square foot Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics building that includes a 700-seat performing arts auditorium.

Prior to coming to Florida, Dr. Chambers was impacting kids in Connecticut as an Assistant Superintendent, Principal, “turn-around” educator. Her innovative work focused on developing educational systems, in both public and schools of choice, designed to accelerate student learning and close the achievement gap for underrepresented youth.

Dr. Chambers is a Lifetime member of Leadership Florida, a distinguished organization of the most impactful leaders statewide. She serves on the Northwest Regional Board of Leadership Florida as Events Coordinator. She is actively involved in Florida Capital Women’s Network, Florida State University Educator Preparation Advisory Board, FSU Deans and Chairs Committee and has served as an expert witness on education.

When away from campus, Dr. Chambers competes in Extreme Cowboy Races where she is a lifetime member. Her small farmhouses three beautiful show mules and 6 dogs; several that were lovingly rescued. David, a skilled “turn-around” principal and her husband of 16 years, shares her love of all things education, students and animals.
