Professional Activity

On January 18, 2017, Navy Federal Credit Union hosted the UWF chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma for a panel presentation on the value of internships and a tour of the facilities at the Greater Pensacola Operations.  A panel of three Navy Federal employees that previously served as interns shared the value of their internship experiences for their professional development.  Two Talent Acquisition leaders provided a tour of the recently constructed building 3.  Three vice presidents and two managers shared their leadership experiences and summarized the key characteristics they seek in employee candidates.  Topping the list of super star characteristics were initiative to see problems and seek solutions, professional communication skills, a positive attitude, data analysis and interpretation skills, and high performance in one’s current position.

Service Project

On September 6, 2017, National Read a Book Day, the UWF chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma read children’s books to preschool children in the UWF Educational Research Center for Child Development. As a business honor society, the goal for the Beta Gamma Sigma service project was to introduce to children business themes that included capacity planning, counting, perseverance, entrepreneurship, testing new products and ideas, and empowerment.
