The College of Education and Professional Studies has many scholarship opportunities available to our students. The drop-down menus below includes a list of current scholarships. These scholarships may be subject to change.
UWF Scholarship Portal
The University of West Florida accepts general scholarship applications year-round through the UWF Scholarship Portal. To apply for scholarships, log into your MyUWF account, search for "UWF Scholarship Portal", and complete the application. You must have an active UWF Student Account, in order to submit an application. If you are unable to access your scholarship application, please contact the ITS Help Desk for assistance, 850.474.2075.

Graduate
To apply for graduate awards, please complete the Graduate Scholarship Application and provide any documents directly to your department.
If you have not yet completed the General Application located in the UWF Scholarship Portal, and you have been provided a UWF ID# (970xxxxxx), please do so. The General Application provides us necessary information to help award you assistance and qualifies you for additional funding opportunities offered at UWF.
Graduate awards may be awarded throughout the year, as determined by each department.
Undergraduate
To apply for undergraduate awards, please complete the general application and any other scholarship applications, for which you qualify, in the UWF Scholarship Portal.
Undergraduate applications submitted by the end of February will be considered for the following academic year. Generally, undergraduate scholarships are awarded in the spring for the following academic year.

- Awarded to domestic graduate students (international students are not eligible)

- Elementary Education Students
- Student must have graduated from high school in Escambia County, FL or Santa Rosa County, FL

- Awarded to UWF degree seeking students pursing a minor in Professional Education or Graduate students majoring in Curriculum & Instruction
- Student must be in Good-Standing
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
Elizabeth Benedict Riehm Memorial Scholarship
- Students majoring in Special Education
- Overall GPA of 3.5 or greater
- Student must answer supplemental questions pertaining to future work teaching the cognitively disabled in the Scholarship Portal to be considered

Linda Evans Scholarship
- Elementary Education Students
- Merit-based
NDIA Teacher Scholarship
- Awarded to UWF degree seeking students in the TEEL Department
- Preference will be given to middle and high school pre-service teachers who are focused on STEM disciplines
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Student must answer supplemental questions pertaining to focus on STEM disciplines in the Scholarship Portal to be considered
Pamela B Schwartz Scholarship
- Graduate Students
- Overall GPA of 3.0 or greater
- Need-based
- Student must submit a one paragraph, double spaced personal statement describing how graduate school will advance their academic or professional work in respective discipline as a supplemental document in the Scholarship Portal
Peggy Pilcher and Community Educational Fund
- Awarded to incoming high school students
- Full-time students (minimum 12 hours fall and spring, 9 hours summer)
- High school GPA must be 2.5 or greater
- Need-based
- Student must provide a short description of a high school or community leadership program they are involved in as a supplemental document in the Scholarship Portal
Pickens Foundation for Education
- Awarded to UWF degree seeking students preparing to become teachers
- Must be a Florida resident
- Overall GPA of 3.0 or greater

Scholarships for Graduate Students
Eligible students should first complete the General Application located in the UWF Scholarship Portal, then complete the CEPS Graduate Scholarship Application located on the CEPS Scholarship page before contacting the department. Upon completing both applications, please email a current CV, a statement of interest, and any supporting documentation for each scholarship you qualify for to soe@uwf.edu. Email notification will be sent to all awardees when the decisions are made.
