National CAE Cybersecurity Workforce Development Program

The University of West Florida is leading a coalition of 10 institutions designated as National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (CAE-C) to establish a nationally scalable and sustainable cybersecurity workforce program to rapidly expand the number of qualified cybersecurity professionals. The National Security Agency selected UWF to oversee the program, which is funded by a two-year, $6 million grant.

The national workforce program focuses on recruiting, preparing, and placing transitioning military and first responders into cybersecurity work roles in our nation’s Critical Infrastructure Sectors, including financial services, defense industrial base, and energy sectors.

Each coalition institution offers cybersecurity workforce pathways that prepares participants for specific cybersecurity work roles, aligned with the NICE Cybersecurity Workforce Framework
