- Web Developer and Coordinator
Lisa Barringer, the Web Developer and Coordinator for UWF’s Center for Cybersecurity, is a digital marketing professional who specializes in content writing and development. She has more than 25 years of marketing experience, which includes copywriting, developing websites, and designing marketing assets for various industries in the public and private sectors.
A graduate of Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, her career began in print journalism. As a former news reporter, Lisa worked for a number of weekly and daily newspapers across the U.S., including the Thomasville Times-Enterprise (Thomasville, Georgia.), News-Leader (Florida’s oldest weekly news publication on Fernandina Beach), and the Fort Myers News-Press (Fort Myers, Florida).
After spending some time in the news business, Lisa transitioned to public relations and marketing and landed her first job in the field as the spokesperson for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Fort Myers Regional Operations Center in 1998. Since then, Lisa has utilized her writing and marketing skills to help promote and build an online presence for businesses in the franchise, library, travel, restaurant, retail, and B2B manufacturing industries. Lisa attributes her career longevity to her innate writing ability, love for learning, a strong commitment to excellence, and will to help others succeed.
Lisa is delighted to join the Center for Cybersecurity’s team and looks forward to helping the Center thrive and produce future leaders in cybersecurity. She awakens, each day, eagerly seeking to make a difference and influence people through words.
