Laura Sommers

Laura joined the University of West Florida Center for Cybersecurity in 2018 as the Business Manager. She earned a Master’s in Public Administration and a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from the University of West Florida. Laura was the first female Stores Manager in the Florida State University System where she oversaw the daily operations of the UWF Central Stores. She later transitioned to Student Affairs advancing to Coordinator of Administration and Judicial Affairs where she oversaw the daily operations of the support staff and managed budgets for multiple programs, including Dean of Students, Student Orientation, Testing and Student Disability Services. Laura was promoted to Program Manager for the College of Education and Professional Studies, Dean’s Office, where she assisted in the management of contracts and grants for the College. She provides over 25 years of management support experience to the Center for Cybersecurity.
