Germany Yesterday and Today, July 1-28, 2017

CASSH invites interested students of all concentrations to experience Germany Yesterday and Today, July 1-28, 2017. 

Germany Yesterday and Today offers an overview of German cultural studies. Course studies encompass German cultural history from the medieval ages to the 21th centuries, as well as topics of modern German society. The class offers the unique opportunity for cultural immersion and first-hand investigation of German culture.

During the four-week study in Germany, classes will convene four days a week to discuss historical and present-day cultural and artistic topics. Fieldtrips to Nuremberg, Munich and Berlin, will offer students the opportunities to investigate the historical significance of World War II memorials, a concentration camp, and buildings of exceptional architectural prominence such as the Deutscher Bundestag and the Berliner Dom. All classes will be taught in English.  

Eligibility Requirements:

  • UWF undergraduate (3.0+ GPA) and graduate (3.0+ GPA) students
  • Students must register for the Summer 2017 course GER 4990/5990 Germany Yesterday and Today. 3 credits. No knowledge of German required.
