Minor in Philosophy
Students minoring in Philosophy receive a foundation in philosophical thought and analytical skills.
Program Description
Students minoring in Philosophy engage in diverse studies, offering a broad foundation of philosophical thought. Through the program, students develop critical skills that foster success in both academic studies and professional environments. Skills that students develop include comprehension, communication, interpretation, criticism and evaluation.
Students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy may not earn this minor.

Student Spotlight, Janelle Gormley
For Janelle Gormley, coming to UWF provided an opportunity to explore, be heard and change lives – including her own.
The senior transferred to UWF’s philosophy program after discovering a passion for the subject at Pensacola State College. "I was looking for all of these answers to ‘why,’" Janelle says. "It was a personal journey, and then it became a love."
