Minor in History

UWF's Minor in History offers critical studies and experience in research, writing, and oral communication.

Program Description

A minor in History is the perfect companion to any degree program! Our minor is ideal for students interested in honing their critical thinking abilities as well as those wishing to obtain further experience with research, writing, and oral communication. The minor is also perfect for those who simply love history! By taking courses in both American and European history, students learn about history's significance in understanding the world around us and how we came to be who we are. To earn a minor in history, a student must complete fifteen (15) credit hours as follows:

  • Six (6) credit hours of 3000- or 4000-level American history (AMH)
  • Six (6) credit hours of 3000- or 4000-level European history (EUH)
  • Three (3) credit hours of 3000- or 4000-level of history elective (AFH, AMH, ASH, EUH, HIS, or LAH)
