Keeping Up With The Commons

The University Commons is getting a facelift. Several of the event and meeting spaces will be renovated over the next year and a half and this page was created to keep our campus community up to date on the status of current projects as well as plans for future phases. Check back often to discover what’s new and what’s coming up in the Commons.

University Commons Entrepreneur Incubator Grand Opening

The UWF Center for Entrepreneurship held the grand opening of the Commons Entrepreneurship Incubator space in the University Commons on Feb. 26, 2020.
The goal for the space is to support students transform their business ideas into reality by providing networking opportunities and expert support from faculty and staff, and community partners.

The Commons Entrepreneur Incubator is an ideal partnership between University Commons, Student Involvement and the Center for Entrepreneurship to provide a valuable resource to the "next generation of big thinkers who will change the world." The Commons Entrepreneur Incubator will serve as a workspace and showcase for a select group of entrepreneurial and innovative students that are actively growing their business.

Up to five student-led enterprises will be able to participate in the Commons Entrepreneur Incubator program during any given semester. There will be an application process each semester and applications will be reviewed by a panel of stakeholders. The Center for Entrepreneurship will provide scholarships to the accepted student-led startups to help with funding supplies.
