This page provides information regarding job opportunities at Tutoring and Learning Resources for students currently enrolled at UWF.


Tutoring and Learning Resources provides tutoring, study skills assistance sessions, academic success workshops, and academic coaching to UWF students.

 We are currently seeking job applicants for all of our positions:


 

Peer Tutor

Peer tutors meet with students in order to assist with course concepts in general education courses as well as to provide study skills assistance. Tutors support students in understanding the content of their courses by guiding them through important concepts and common practice problems. Tutors must be capable of assessing student needs and sharing relevant learning and studying strategies to promote academic success. For a complete list of classes that our tutors support, please review our current Tutoring Schedule. We do accept applications for those interested in supporting other General Education Curriculum courses, however, the need to hire for those courses is based on demand for services. Peer Academic Coach

Academic coaches hold regularly scheduled sessions with students in order to help students develop skills to attain their short-term and long-term academic goals. Academic coaches provide academic skill-building in a variety of areas (time management, study skills, goal setting, etc.) and help students to develop effective learning and personal management strategies. Workshop Presenter

Workshop presenters facilitate group presentations for the Academic Success Workshop Series, which takes place during the Fall and Spring semesters. Presenters are responsible for presenting academic success tips and strategies to students and facilitating the activities for each session. This position requires strong public speaking and interpersonal skills. Workshop descriptions, dates, and times can be found under the Academic Success Workshop tab on the Tutoring and Learning Resources Services Offered webpage. Please note that the majority of workshops occur during evening hours. There may also be additional opportunities to present academic success presentations to campus partners requesting services from Tutoring and Learning Resources. We are accepting applications for potential vacancies throughout the academic year. All applicants must be a current UWF student with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
