UWF Bridge to Good Health

UWF students are eligible for most services only during each semester they are enrolled. Most students, however, do not enroll for all three semesters each year and as a result may experience difficulty maintaining on-going medical care. In an effort to assist with this issue we have developed a Bridge to Good Health (BGH) Program that UWF students can opt to participate in to be eligible for services in an “off” semester.

UWF Bridge to Good Health Program

The UWF Bridge to Good Health (BGH) Program is a supplemental program that allows UWF students, while taking a semester “off,” to utilize Student Health Services (SHS) and Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS).

The UWF BGH Program is based on the per-credit hour Health Fee (currently $7.52/credit hour) for full time attendance (12 hours for Spring/Fall and 9 hours for Summer). Enrollment in the UWF BGH Program at this time is $90.24 for Spring or Fall semesters and $67.68 for the Summer semester.

After your fee is paid, you are eligible to continue seeing the healthcare providers at SHS and CAPS just as if you were a currently enrolled student. Payment for the program can be paid either in the SHS office (Visa, Mastercard or American Express) or through the Cashier’s Office. If you would like to pay through the Cashier’s Office, please contact us at 850.474.2172, Option 1. The fee is paid in full prior to your first appointment during the “off” semester.

Students who are suspended or expelled are not eligible, and students may not participate during two semesters consecutively.

The program is open to students four times as an Undergraduate student and four times as a Graduate student.

For more information about the UWF Bridge to Good Health Program please call 850.474.2172, Option 1, to speak with an SHS staff member.
