Kugelman Honors Living Learning Community

Building community and providing resources for Honors Students
The Honors Living Learning Community (LLC) is an exciting hub for education-in-action. Embracing diversity, enhancing scholarship, and building new friendships, the Honors LLC fosters an inclusive, close-knit community for UWFs most academically ambitious students. Honors provides access to exclusive opportunities, including research projects, internships with community partners, study abroad, access to top faculty, conference travel, and professional development. Honors students can be found presenting original diversity research in Los Angeles, learning about sustainability in the mountains of Peru, and cooking meals together in Pace Hall with produce grown in our campus garden. With access to Honors faculty and staff, a central location on campus, and a built-in community of peers, there's no doubt that “Pace is the Place!”
The Honors Program offers special programs in addition to the educational and social opportunities planned by the RAs. These signature programs are larger events that promote making new friends and networking with other Honors students. Signature programs include:
Program |
Description |
---|---|
Honors Orientation |
This annual event on the Saturday of opening weekend solidifies the incoming class of Honors students. New students learn about the program, connect with their Honors Mentors, and build excitement for their future in Honors! |
Welcome Back Fall Cookout |
All Pace Hall residents are invited to kick-off the academic year with a cookout on Pargo (the lawn between Pace and Argo Hall). Typically held on the Sunday of opening weekend, the cookout is a great way for the Pace community to come together and socialize before classes begin. |
Welcome Back Spring Event |
Each Spring semester, the Honors Program hosts a welcome back event to mark the beginning of the semester. These events vary, ranging from dinner to a scavenger hunt at Gallery Night in downtown Pensacola. Keep an eye out around Pace Hall each January for information about the welcome back event for spring. |
Honors Council Activities |
The Honors Council schedules a variety of service and social activities throughout the year both on and off of campus. All Pace residents are encouraged to attend these events! |
Academic Support |
All Pace Hall residents are welcome to a variety of academic events and programming. Pace Hall is a community of scholars who value ambition, balance, maturity, diversity, and service. |
