Founders Week Day of Service
In celebration of UWF’s impact in the community, President Saunders invites students, faculty, and staff to participate in community service activities on Tuesday, April 14, 2020.
How To Participate
There are two ways to participate:
Sign up your group, student organization or department for a prearranged local service project to take place on April 14. See project details and registration instructions below.
Plan and register your own community service project anytime April 11-18. Document your project by April 24 by emailing the following information to firstname.lastname@example.org: description of the project, name and contact information of the community partner, project site, date(s) and times of the service, and the names of all participants. Please share any pictures you have from your project as well!
Employees who participate in Argos Day of Service must obtain permission to do so from their supervisor and register through Founders Week. If employee groups or organizations arrange their own service efforts, these must also be registered through Founders Week, and documentation of service from the community service organization should be provided to Ben Stubbs at email@example.com by April 24. Travel authorization (TAR) is not required.
Groups must provide their own transportation to and from the project as well as any required equipment. To register your group for a project, schedule an appointment with Jade Ortiz. Information about project locations and required equipment will be provided during the appointment. A representative from student organizations must meet in-person with Jade to confirm their registration. Campus departments can conduct the appointment via phone. Projects will be assigned first-come, first-served at the time of the appointment. We will do our best to update this list regularly to reflect the availability of projects. Schedule an appointment with Jade below, or contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
