Dr. Michele Manassah

Dr. Michele Manassah joined UWF in August 2018 and currently serves as the executive director for Counseling and Wellness. In this role, she is responsible for the comprehensive leadership, vision and direction, effective management, supervision and day-to-day administration of Counseling and Psychological Services, Student Health Services, Recreation, and Wellness Services. This model provides collaborative programs and services which enhance student health and well-being.

Prior to coming to UWF, Manassah served for eight years as the director of Counseling Services at Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois, directing the clinical and administrative operations of student counseling services and prevention education, as well as facilitating the long-range planning efforts for the department, contributing to the overall character, content and quality of services.

Prior to her work at Lewis University, Michele served for 20 years in public health, working in Ohio and Illinois in rural, suburban and urban settings providing mental health services and clinical and administrative oversight to several programs. Manassah earned a bachelor’s degree in child and family services and a master’s degree in counseling from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. She earned a doctorate in leadership with a specialization in counselor education and supervision at the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky.
