First CICS Sign-on
- Open the emulator software icon on your desktop.
- A screen, "University of West Florida Data Center," will open and the cursor will be in the USERID field.
- Type your user-id established by your WSM.
- Tab to the PASSWORD field, If this is your first time entering the system you must create a new password. Your current password is your USERID.
You will be forced to change your password to something other than your USERID. You will establish your "real" CICS PASSWORD in the next step.
- Tab to the ENTER A NEW PASSWORD field and type what you'd like to use for your CICS Password (Passwords must be 5 to 8 characters in length, begin with a letter and contain at least one number) and enter.
- You will be prompted to VERIFY YOUR NEW PASSWORD. Type the same password you typed in the ENTER A NEW PASSWORD field and enter.
This is the CICS PASSWORD you will use to sign-on everytime you signon to CICS..
First PMEN Sign-on
- A screen, "CONSORTIUM PASSWORD SCREEN" will open and the cursor will be in the PASSWORD field.
- Type your user-id established by your WSM.
NOTE: Your user-id is only used as your PMEN PASSWORD the first time you sign-on. You will establish your "real" PMEN PASSWORD in the next step.
- Tab to the NEW PASSWORD field and type what you'd like to use for your PMEN Password.
- Tab to the VERIFY PASSWORD field and type the same password you typed in the ENTER A NEW PASSWORD field and enter.
This is the PMEN PASSWORD you will now use to sign-on.
- A screen, "MASTER MENU INQUIRY," will open. This will display all the transactions you can access. The allowable transactions listed are determined from entries made in the user's PSED security file. All CICS transactions MUST be accessed through this master menu.
Using the MASTER MENU INQUIRY screen
- If a user has access to more than 16 transactions, there will be multiple pages of the menu screen displayed. Press F8 to display the next page. Press F7 to display the previous page.
- Accessing Transactions from the Menu
- A transaction may be accessed either by entering the TRAN NO in the TRAN NO/ID field, or by entering the TRAN ID in the TRAN NO/ID field.
- The TRAN ID does not have to be displayed on the menu screen as long as the user has authorization to access it.
- If a key is desired, enter the key in the field titled 'ENTER REQUIRED KEY FIELDS'. Note the format for multiple keys is listed to the right of the transaction name.
- F6 Key
Press this key to display a list of PMEN transactions, if any that have not been assigned to this user-id in the CICS SECU Security System.
- F3 Key
Press this key to exit the PMEN.
Password Expiration messages
A few days before a user-id’s password expires, a warning message will be displayed at the bottom of the screen in the message line telling you that you password will expire in "x" number of days.
If the password has already expired, the following message will be displayed: “PASSWORD HAS EXPIRED, PLEASE ENTER A NEW
PASSWORD”.
