Dobson posts Top 50 finish at Boston Marathon

University of West Florida men's cross country coach Matthew Dobson overcame unseasonably warm New England weather to finish 49th out of 20,344 runners in the 108th running of the Boston Marathon on Monday.
Dobson crossed the finish line with a time of 2:39:29 as the 49th overall finisher and the 39th male finisher. Dobson improved his time after finishing 94th in his first Boston Marathon in 2002. Timothy Cherigat of Kenya was the overall winner with a time of 2:10:37.
Dobson has four career marathon victories. He became the first American to win the Walt Disney World Marathon this past January.
