How do I find a place to volunteer?
Schedule a meeting with a Volunteer UWF! team member and depending on your interests, a member of the Volunteer UWF! team can help you identify local non-profit agencies and Community Partners that match your interests. Each of our Community Partners has a specific discipline/social interest that they cater to and some of these include: adulthood and aging, children and families, athletics and recreation, animals and the environment, nursing and healthcare, education, adolescents, and mentoring to name a few.Where can I volunteer? How can I get involved in service?
There are many different agencies to volunteer with throughout the Pensacola and surrounding areas! The best way to find out the different agencies that are available is to view them through our online database JasonQuest, or schedule a personal appointment with a Volunteer UWF! representative to discuss your specific interests. JasonQuest houses both one-time/special volunteer events as well as recurring volunteer service opportunities. JasonQuest is really a wealth of valuable information when it comes to locating an agency to participate and volunteer with.Are there places to volunteer on campus?

If a student completes 20 or more service hours in a semester their hours will automatically be reported and reflected on the students’ official transcript through the UWF Registrar’s Office. All hours must be recorded on a Volunteer UWF! Timesheet, and turned in to the Volunteer UWF! office located inside the Career Services building (building 19) no later than the Monday PRIOR to Final Exam Week in each semester. In order for the hours to be reported, students must be registered in JasonQuest.What is the last date to turn in Volunteer UWF! Timesheets?
You can turn in volunteer timesheets at any time. However, if want your hours to be reflected in the semester that you completed them, then the last day to turn in the timesheet to Volunteer UWF!, is the Monday PRIOR to Final Exam week for each semester! Any hours received late in a semester (after the posted deadline) will be reflected in the following semester. If you are graduating, you will want to make sure your hours are turned in by the deadline since there won’t be a “next semester” for those graduating.

What are some benefits of serving? Why should I get involved in service?
There are many great reasons to consider getting involved in service. One of the most beneficial reasons is that it can help you explore majors and careers. If you are still thinking about what you want to major in, a great way to learn about your different fields of interest is to volunteer within those fields. Serving will also give you great experience which can be listed on your resume. It will also teach you skills that will be transferable to a work environment once you graduate. These are just a few of the many reasons to consider getting involved in service. If you want to learn more about getting involved, stop by the Volunteer UWF! office in the Career Service office in building 19. We would love to help you learn more about service and volunteerism!
What are the benefits of registering my student organization or group through Volunteer UWF!?

How many people from my organization have to participate in an event for it to count towards the student organization/group’s total volunteer hours?
In order for an event to be counted and reflected toward a Student Organization’s/Group’s cumulative total hours, the event must be registered though Volunteer UWF!, and then at least 2 members need to participate and volunteer for the event. However, we encourage at least 3-5 people participate in an event
What’s the difference between Field Study/Service Learning?
There are several significant differences between Service Learning and Field Study. For a detailed explanation of both, please visit the “Service Learning” and “Field Study” links from the Volunteer UWF! homepage.How can I obtain the necessary Service Learning/Field Study Paperwork & Forms?
When you come into the Volunteer UWF! office for your Service Learning and Field Study orientation session, a Volunteer UWF! representative will go through all the paperwork and explain everything. Copies will be given out at that time as well as via email before/after your orientation session takes place. If you are enrolled in a Service Learning or Field Study course, a Volunteer UWF! representative typically will also hand out the Service Learning or Field Study paperwork in one of your classes or at an individual appointment, too—as you can see, there are many ways to receive the information!
How do I know when my Service Learning/Field Study Paperwork is due?
First and foremost, all Volunteer UWF! Timesheets are due no later than 5PM the Monday PRIOR to Final Exam week each semester. This date will be posted on the Volunteer UWF! website, announced in your classes, and posted around campus. The other supplemental paperwork (Learning Objectives/Action Plan; Agency Agreement Forms, etc.) typically are due back to Volunteer UWF! no later than the end of the 5th week of the semester. This date is also posted on our website, announced in your class, and can be found by contacting Volunteer UWF!. If there is other supplemental paperwork, your professor will set those deadlines.
Is my Service Learning/Field Study Paperwork due the same day as the other volunteer time sheets?
All Volunteer UWF! Timesheets are due at the same time but the Learning Objectives/Action Plan; Agency Agreement Forms, etc. are due at a different time—typically determined by your professor and a Volunteer UWF! representative.
