To avoid overpayment of benefits, students must report any change in credit hours (drop/add), withdrawal, or termination of attendance to the UWF Veterans Services Office.
All overpayments must be repaid to the DVA. Interest and administrative fees may be assessed and added to the original amount of the debt.
Failure to repay any overpayment will result in adverse credit rating. Debt collection may also be turned over to the IRS or a collection agency.

What causes an overpayment?
An overpayment may result if a student receives a grade which is not
used as a requirement for graduation. Grades include
I, I*, TR, V, W, WP, X, ZZ, etc. Another cause of
overpayment is the student's failure to report course changes
immediately to the UWF Veterans Services Office for certification. Overpayments may
also result if a student stops attending class or information is
received from professors indicating poor attendance.
