University of West FloridaStudents receiving benefits from the federal Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) constitute over ten percent of all students attending the University. Many faculty and staff members have also received educational support from the DVA. The University provides a wide variety of services to all students, including veterans. Services include counseling, financial aid, testing, tutoring, job placement assistance, etc. |
Welcome to UWF Veterans ServicesThe Military & Veterans Resource Center (MVRC) is in Building 38, Room 147, and may be reached by calling (850) 474-2550. The UWF MVRC serves as a leading campus advocate for
military and veterans students, working to ensure the needs of these
individuals are met through coordinating with multiple university offices
and services. The center provides assistance with the following: The MVRC will process enrollment for educational claims and provide assistance with the DVA. MVRC has a professional staff augmented by veteran transition coaches to assist students by providing information about entitlements, filing claims to the DVA, and certifying enrollments. Students can receive peer counseling for personal and academic concerns, as well as referrals to appropriate University and community agencies. The MVRC is responsible for monitoring the academic standards of progress of all students receiving educational benefits from the DVA. Students receiving benefits from the DVA must contact this office during registration and whenever changes occur to initially reported class schedules.
