The federal Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) is responsible for veterans educational assistance programs. The DVA issues regulations, makes eligibility determinations, and sends checks to eligible students. The toll free number to contact the DVA is (800) 827-1000. The state DVA counselors should be able to provide additional information concerning benefits eligibility, payment status, etc. UWF's Veterans Services Office does not have access to this information. However, the UWF web site contains useful information about DVA Educational Assistance Programs, application procedures, and specific guidelines for UWF students receiving DVA educational benefits.
