FIRST: Veterans begin by logging into the Veterans On Line Application web-site VONAPP and submitting an Application. The web site provides detailed information and links to state, county, and local organizations that will assist service members, veterans and their beneficiaries. We recommend that Veterans apply early because this process can take several months before VA Eligibility is determined.

Chapter 1607 Activated Reserve (REAP)
Veterans who fall under any of the chapters listed above are required to submit VA Form 22-1990 with any supporting documentation online at VONAPP.
Chapter 33 Application process for the new GI Bill begins May 1, 2009. Electronic application may be found at VONAPP.
Chapter 31, Disabled Veterans: Disabled veterans are required to submit VA Form 28-1900 with any supporting documentation online at VONAPP. A Voc Rehab counselor will be assigned to manage the case and will provide an additional VA Form 28-1905 that is needed for the VSO to process certification.
Chapter 35, Dependent Spouse and Children:
Dependents must submit VA Form 22-5490 with any supporting documentation online
at VONAPP.
Transfer students who previously received DVA Educational Benefits:
Chapters 30, 32, 33, 34/30, 1606, 1607 Veterans:
Submit VA Form 22-1995 with any supporting documentation online at VONAPP.

SECOND: Apply to UWF in a degree seeking
program through the Office of Admissions.
Students requesting certifications for VA approved certificate programs must
provide the Veteran Services Office with a signed letter from the program's
academic advisor with the following information:
Student name and last four digits of the SSN
Statement confirming student's acceptance into the certificate program
Certificate name
Program begin and end
Withdrawal deadline
Expectation of Graduation

THIRD: After registering for classes veterans must submit a VA certification online through the Argus account under the “My Info” tab. New students will be notified if they are required to complete an interview application before submitting their VA enrollment certification. Once certification is submitted, the student will receive notification if classes or GPA do not meet degree requirements. Student's will also be notified by email using their UWF email account once enrollment has been sent to the Atlanta Regional Office.
UWF students should submit the VA enrollment certification request online through their Argus account each semester.
Students who do not have access to Argus may print the VA Enrollment Certification Request form and mail or fax (850) 473-7345, to the VSO.
Additional Information
Veterans using VA benefits must certify their enrollment with the VSO at the
start of every semester. Only classes that appear on the SASS audit or Program
Description Sheet can be certified.
If changes are made to enrollment or the degree plan, contact the VSO to ensure
changes can be certified for VA benefits.
