ACADEMIC AND ADMINISTRATIVE BUILDINGS

Bldg 18 and 52 Moves: Bldg 18 moves complete with the exception of one door in Room 131 and the installation of panels in Rooms 146 and 149 in building 52. All work to be complete by March 1. Contact Earl Smith x 2001, esmith@uwf.edu.

Bldg 70 Voice Data Rewire: The work includes the premise wiring upgrade the entire building. A pre-bid conference is scheduled for February 10 and bids are due before February 24, 04. Construction is scheduled to start the first week in March. The proposed completion date is after spring break. Bldg 77, ATC Lab: This work involves creating two areas in one large classroom. One area will be a high tech classroom and the other a conference area. Also included are two offices and one reception area. Wireless connectivity shall be provided for both areas with hard wiring where needed. Modular furniture contractor is behind schedule, missing parts of the partitions, and hutch doors. Scheduled delivery of the missing or unacceptable modular furniture parts is at a minimum of four weeks. ESA South has completed their construction and we are waiting for a firm date from Daniels to install the projectors and screens. Contact Chuck Summers x3139, csummers@uwf.edu.

Bldg 83, Wetlands Research Grant Project: Plans are to renovate the building to allow for completion of a grant. Substantial completion inspection was January 30, 2004. Final completion is scheduled for February 11. The staff is scheduled to start moving back into their building on February 11, 2004. Contact Myles Sampson x7344, msampson@uwf.edu. Building 207 (Gazebo near 54): Structural repairs and roof replacement work has started. The contractor during the structural repair work is approximately 50% complete at this time. Substantially complete is schedule for February 12. Shortly after, the roof repair contractor will begin. Final completion for the total project date is March 8. Health, Leisure & Sports Facility: Erection of structural steel has started while work on concrete foundations, slabs and masonry continues; A REMINDER -Handicapped parking for the natatorium has been relocated to east of building 54 for the duration of construction. Oak Grove parking is for contractors only. Project is on schedule with project completion scheduled for January 2005. International House: The Japan House is approximately 85% complete. Temporary heat is being provided to complete the special tea room interior finishes which commenced last week. The IH portion of the overall facility is progressing well and is approximately 75% complete with interior framing, sheet rock, and all other trades work being installed at this time. Exterior site work is being accomplished as weather permits. Overall, the total project is approximately 80% complete with completion date scheduled for the middle of May 2004. CAMPUS GROUNDS, UTILITIES & MISC.:

Campus Entrance Sign, Ph I of II: New Campus Entrance sign on University Parkway has scheduled for final completion February 16, 2004. Contact Myles Sampson, msampson@uwf.edu, x7344 or Dave Luttrell, dluttrell@uwf.edu, x3417. Contractor: ESA South.

Chilled Water and Hot Water Piping Replacement Phase II & III: Project replaces current underground central hot and chilled water piping to buildings served by the central plant. Sports Complex Wastewater Upgrades: This project upgrades the existing wastewater systems located at the Sports Complex and Pelican Park. Construction is substantially complete. Contact Ron Northrup at x2040 or rnorthru@uwf.edu. Contractor: Northwest Florida Underground.

Soccer Field Press Box: A 6' x 16' wood press box structure is presently being constructed on the south side of the Track and Soccer Field Complex. Work should be completed by March 1, 2004. Contact Roger E. Rowe at x3117 or rrowe@uwf.edu for more info. Contractor: Trammell Construction

Athletic Sports Complex Fencing Project: Work consists of providing new perimeter fencing around this complex to control access and vandals from damaging the various playing fields. Bldg 54, Planter and Sidewalk Repairs: Scheduled to start this week by Anderson Construction pending amount of rain. Pine tree has been removed by Jim's Tree Service and stump ground for planter area. Contact Chuck Summers x3139, csummers@uwf.edu.

RESIDENCE HALLS AND AUXILIARY BUILDING

2003 New Residence Hall: 150 students moved into New Hall on January 4, '04. Site work, punch-list items, closeout documents and as-built drawings are being finalized at this time. WEST FLORIDA HISTORIC PRESERVATION, INC. PROJECTS

ACADEMIC AND HISTORICAL BUILDINGS

Bowden Building 1st Floor Classrooms: Wescon is in process of permitting project to convert the 1st floor of Bowden Building into two high-tech classrooms. Contract executed and permitting underway. Construction should begin mid-November. Classrooms will be available spring '04. Contact Pat Paterson x595.5985, hpaterso@uwf.edu.

Village-Wide Repairs: Project underway. $334,000 to repair wood, paint and other miscellaneous repairs/restorations for the entire Pensacola Village Complex. Wescon is GC. Contact Pat Paterson x595.5985, hpaterso@uwf.edu.

The Project Request Form is available online at: http://uwf.edu/AEservices/aesforms.htm. Requestors will be contacted with an estimate and written Scope of Work. All renovations to space will be coordinated by a project manager and completed by outside contractors. Facilities Management focus is on preventative maintenance.
