Energy consumption is managed and monitored campus wide to meet energy conservation program goals. Utility conservation measures are developed and implemented having a beneficial cost-benefit payback not exceeding seven (7) years.

Energy Consumption Reduction at UWF:

• Energy consumption on campus is down. Even though the Science and Engineering Building (94,719 gross square feet) was opened in 2010, energy consumption only went up 1.3% last fiscal year.
• Solar paneled crosswalk lights have been installed
• Solar and Geothermal systems are in new building construction
