Donor Recognition Dinner

On October 4, 2016, the University of West Florida honored its most generous donors at the Donor Recognition Dinner at the Museum of Commerce on UWF's historic property in downtown Pensacola. These alumni and friends have helped to open doors of opportunity for UWF students. We thank all our contributors for their loyal and thoughtful support.

In 2012, Quint and Rishy Studer committed $1 million in scholarships for Escambia County students to attend the University of West Florida or Pensacola State College-marking the start of a wave of impact for UWF, its students and the community. Three years later, another $1 million gift commitment from the Studers funded the Center for Entrepreneurship at the UWF College of Business. The Center’s mission captures the Studers’ entrepreneurial spirit and unwavering commitment to UWF and our community, which has been a catalyst for transformative growth in Northwest Florida and beyond.

In January 2016, long-time supporter Harold E. ‘Hal’ Marcus allocated $5 million to the College of Science and Engineering. In honor of his contribution, the college was renamed the Hal Marcus College of Science and Engineering, marking it the University’s first named college. For more information, visit the UWF Newsroom.
