M.A. in Psychology: Counseling Admission Guidelines

We are looking for people with heart and a desire to apply psychological science in service of others, therefore our selection process emphasizes a holistic approach that includes evaluation of academic, experiential, and interpersonal factors.


Application Deadlines for 2020 (any semester) Start:

November 1st; February 1st; May 1st

 

Regular Admission

  • GRE scores at or above Verbal (40th percentile) and Quantitative (30th percentile) are more competitive
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA; applicants with significantly higher GPAs are more competitive
  • At least 2 letters of recommendation, minimum of one from a faculty member
  • Letter of Intent
  • In-person or phone interview with at least 1 faculty member (by invitation from the Graduate Admissions Committee)
  • Resume/ CV

Express Application/Admission

  • GRE waived for UWF students with cumulative GPA 3.6 or higher (based on at least 100 credit hours)
  • At least 1 letter of recommendation from a full-time UWF faculty member
  • Letter of Intent
  • In-person interview with at least 1 faculty member (by invitation from the Graduate Admissions Committee)
  • Resume/ CV
