8 - 11pm:
Enjoy a night of food, fun, and prizes at the Health, Leisure, and Sports Facility! Food and drink is provided in the HLS Atrium. Participants receive a ticket for door prizes on the way down to the recreation spaces, where multiple activities showcase the diverse offerings of Recreation and Sports Services. Participate in an intramural tournament, enter the pull-up competition, try out the climbing wall, and more! Contact Shaun Boren for more information, x2819

August 22

5pm:
Chartwells LUAU Dinner Event/Nautilus Cafeteria
Join Chartwells and Housing for a fun and exciting Luau dinner. Anyone can attend the dinner. If you are a meal plan participant it’s a swipe of your nautilus card, if not the door price is $6.75

7pm:
Platinum Player’s Club Casino Night/Argo Galley
Are you feeling lucky? Come out and beat the odds as you try your luck at Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Poker and the Wheel of Chance. Use your night’s winnings to buy chances on fantastic prizes. Free food and great tunes will round out your night of fun! .

8pm:
Housing Mentalist “Banachek”/UC Aud.
Described as the “Cream of the Crop” when it comes to entertainers, Banachek is the world’s leading Mentalist. His talents are so incredible that he is the only mentalist ever to fool scientists into believing he possessed ‘Psychic powers’ but to later reveal he was fooling them. (See Alpha Project for more information.) Banachek is considered by most in the business to be the number one thought reader in the world. An attribute to his expert performing abilities, Banachek received the ‘Entertainer of the Year’ award from the Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities (A.P.C.A.) in 1998 and 1999 and the ‘Campus Novelty Act of the Year’ in 2000. He has also received the coveted Psychic Entertainer’s Creativity Award for his outstanding contributions and inventions in the world of Mentalism.

One of the most important ingredients for success in any party band is the ability to entertain. You won’t have to worry about being entertained tonight! Convocation is when the UWF community will come together - students, faculty, and staff to celebrate UWF’s spirit and tradition. We hope you will join us at Convocation, it promises to be a day of intellectual renewal, networking, and celebration.

6:30pm-8:30pm: Cultural Explosion/UC Aud.
Come join us for the 4th Annual Cultural Explosion, which is a multi-cultural event with international food & music. Don’t miss out on great door prizes & a good time!

Come Fiesta with Building 19 at our Annual Open House Event! Bldg 19
Come “fiesta” with Career Services, Volunteer UWF! And Counseling & Wellness Services in Building 19 as we celebrate our annual Open House event. We have new space, programs & staff to kick off the new academic year! Don’t miss out on your free stress kits, fun giveaways, and great food!

As a kick-off for our Laugh Attach Series here at UWF, Kyle Dunnigan is setting the bar high. You’ve seen him on Comedy Central Present Kyle Dunnigan, Cedric the Entertainer Presents, and Reno 911! Now come see him in person for a night of comedy you will not forget.

Army ROTC/Bldg. 291
UWF Army ROTC will provide those students seeking adventure an opportunity to Rappel on Fri. Aug.29 from 1pm until 3pm. The Rappel Tower is listed on the UWF campus map as building 291 and can be found at the UWF Baseball Park. Pizza, sodas and water will be available and the first few students who rappel will receive a t-shirt. Call 474-2323 for additional information. Prior to climbing the tower, a wavier must be signed

8:30am-4:30pm: Outdoor Adventures Toobin Trip
HLS Facility Parking Lot
Enjoy a relaxing river float. Bring a friend, or make some new ones! $5 per person, bring your own lunch. Assemble at the HLS front parking lot at 8:30am, leave campus at 9am, return to campus at 4:30pm. Registration will open at Late Night with Recreation and continue at the HLS service desk until Aug. 29. Contact Outdoor Adventures for more information, x2819.

If you are looking for a part time job or if you just want to see what’s out there for a later semester, visit the Part Time Job Fair! There will be on-campus & off-campus opportunities to explore. This event only happens once a year, so don’t miss out!

Do you like to sing, play an instrument, write or read poetry, do stand-up comedy, or want to do anything else you can behind a microphone? Sign-ups begin at 8pm. Don’t miss your chance to show the world (at least the campus) what you can do. Cash prizes awarded to the top three performers!
