Student Handbook

This official guide includes policies and procedures pertaining to UWF students. This edition supersedes and replaces all previous editions. UWF reserves the right to revise this information at any time.

Welcome to the Argo Family!

UWF is a very special place, and you’re an important part of it.  This handbook includes essential policies and procedures that protect you as a member of our campus community, so please read it thoroughly.

There’s a lot more to your college experience than attending classes.  Here at UWF, we want to help you succeed academically, but we are also focused on your wellbeing and your future career goals.  We believe that college should be a time of transformation, a time of challenge and great rewards as you forge lifelong relationships with your peers and faculty.

Here are a few tips to help you succeed:

Don’t Be Afraid to Ask for Help. The Center for Academic Success is available to all UWF students who would like to take advantage of academic tutoring, coaching, and advising. The Dean of Students Office is here to help you navigate personal hardships and get you back on track for success. The Student Ombuds Office provides informal dispute resolution if you need expert help in solving a problem or conflict.

Get Connected! The Office of Student Engagement is always at work providing social events, concerts, and other special programs designed to help you get involved on campus and make new friends. I also encourage you to explore the programs and services offered by International Affairs, TRIO, and Career Development and Community Engagement

Take Responsibility for Your Wellbeing. You have an important role to play in safeguarding your health, your grades, and maintaining the values and standards of the UWF community. Check out the programs offered through Recreation and Wellness, Student Health Services, and Counseling and Psychological Services.

My wish for each one of you is that you graduate from UWF with the tools and skills you need to succeed in whatever path you choose. I can’t wait to see the positive impact that YOU will have on this campus, in our community, and in the world.

Go Argos!
