The Staff Senate will support and help collect working and non-working cell phones for the Corporal J.R. Spears Detachment of the Marine Corps League and their program, HELP OUR HEROES CALL HOME. In order to meet the ongoing changes in our military’s mission, Help Our Heroes Call Home will not only be providing calling cards for our troops deployed around the world, but, in addition, for those service men and women being treated in our military hospitals and assisted by the USO.Help Our Heroes Call Home will not only be providing calling cards for our troops deployed around the world, but, in addition, for those service men and women being treated in our military hospitals and assisted by the USO.

This program encourages participation by individuals and companies to collect old cell phones, which are then sent to a recycler, who, in turn, pays the J.R. Spears Detachment. How it Works

1. UWF will collect old cell phones (working or non-working)

2. Phones are sent to a recycler, prepaid (see Labels)

3. Recycler pays the Cpl. J.R. Spears Detachment #066, Inc. of the Marine Corps League for the phones

4. Detachment #066 purchases calling cards in bulk

5. Calling cards are sent to service men and women in all branches of the service and the USO
