Faculty Handbook

The Faculty Handbook provides guidelines and procedures on university policies such as leave, faculty assignments and promotion and tenure.

Promotion and Tenure

For the purposes of evaluating faculty members, The University of West Florida has adopted a set of general criteria and standards for the assessment of a faculty member’s performance of assigned duties and responsibilities.

Sabbaticals

Sabbaticals are “granted to increase a faculty member’s value to the University through enhanced opportunities for professional renewal, planned travel, study, formal education, research, writing, or other experience of professional value, not as a reward for service.”

Outside Activity/Conflict of Interest

Should you contract with a company or university to offer your services not directly related to your faculty position, an Outside Activity/Conflict of Interest form must be submitted to the school chair.
