Welcome to the Student Society for Human Resource Management   Chapter Objectives Provide balanced, meaningful programs to broaden members' understanding of the business and professional world. Establish and develop contact with human resource professionals and other executives, managers, and labor officials. Foster personal contacts and the exchange of information between members. Further the development, improvement, and application of human resource management practices consistent with the highest standards of ethics and practice. Develop community awareness of the chapter and its activities. Provide resource people for campus and community projects in the field of human resource management. Establish and maintain an active relationship with the sponsoring professional chapter, the society, and other student chapters. Instructions for Joining

To be eligible for membership in Student SHRM, you must be a currently registered student at UWF. There are no fees to join the Student SHRM chapter here at UWF.

In order to maintain our good standing and remain a student chapter with SHRM, we must have a minimum of 8 student members that have paid the annual dues to the national chapter. While not mandatory, we request that you complete the membership application form for the national SHRM chapter. The membership fee is $35 annually, and can be paid online via credit card. Please email the confirmation page to Kayla Duperreault, the VP of Membership, at kad20@students.uwf.edu. Once a member of the national chapter, you will also gain access to both the Greater Pensacola Chapter and the Emerald Coast Chapter for free. To be eligible for conference fee and hotel expense waivers from Student SHRM, students must be members of the national SHRM chapter as well.

Information for New Student SHRM Members

We believe that joining Student SHRM supplements our education at UWF. Our student chapter is affiliated with both the Greater Pensacola Society for Human Resource Management (GPSHRM) and the Society for Human Resource Management Emerald Coast Chapter (SHRM-ECC). This affiliation provides us with the opportunity to meet and discuss issues with a vast array of enthusiastic local HR professionals. GPSHRM has lunch meetings at the Angus Restaurant on Scenic Highway in Pensacola and SHRM-ECC has breakfast meetings at the Two Trees Restaurant at the Fort Walton Beach Golf Club unless otherwise noted. This is an excellent networking opportunity and a chance to hear talks from HR professionals.
