The School of Fine and Performing Arts at the University of West Florida attracts outstanding and dynamic faculty members who foster a vibrant intellectual and creative environment in the departments of Theatre, Music and Art
We are the premier Fine and Performing Arts unit in the Gulf Coast region. Widely renowned for our excellence in education, creative activity, research, and service, we dedicate ourselves to nurturing dynamic learning communities. We do this through rigorous degree programs that educate artists of the future and enhance the cultural milieu of the Northwest Florida region.
The faculty produces transcendent experiences of discovery and expression and is uniquely positioned to impart the qualities of discernment and creativity that contribute to the development of the whole person. In addition, the departments within the school frequently collaborate with each other on shared projects that provide richer learning opportunities in the arts by weaving other disciplines into the curriculum.
The Center for Fine and Performing Arts, which houses the departments, exposes students to state-of-the art equipment and facilities. They include a rehearsal hall, practice rooms, a multi-Use Black Box Theatre, costume shop, and scene shop, as well as performing and display venues, such as an art gallery, the Mainstage Theatre, Music Hall, and lobby.
We invite you to join us and experience first hand the quality and diversity of our programs.
