"Poster" style presentations should be mounted on taable-top project display boards. All poster boards must be 3' x 4'. Presenters must obtain their own poster boards. Adequate table-top space(32" x 72") will be provided to display the boards.
Display Boards may be purchased from a variety of local sources, including Office Depot, Walmart, Michael's, JoAnn Fabric, Hobby Lobby, etc. Please note that a discounted price may be obtained by purchasing the display boards from Office Depot using a UWF purchasing card. Please check with your department.
For on-campus printing of plotter-sized posters, presenters may contact UWF Printing Services or the GIS services page (http://uwf.edu/gis/services/). There WILL be a cost (as listed) for those services and it will be performed on a first come, first served basis. A caveat: a minimum of 48 hours of lead time is required for GIS printing services. Other local off-campus printing options include Monster Graphics on Chemstrand Road (http://www.monster-graphics.com/).
Presenting (co)authors will be asked to stand by their poster during the judging to answer questions and to provide additional information about the research project, and are encouraged to be present for the public viewing from 2 - 4 p.m.
The poster should follow the style of guidelines appropriate to professional meetings within a relevant discipline, e.g. they should include an abstract, introduction, methods (experimental), results, discussion and conclusions. Here are some sample poster arrangements from APA. Authors are encouraged to be concise and stick to the main points of the project that would benefit from being communicated to the greater campus community. Text size should typically be no smaller than 14 points. This includes the text in illustrations and on graphs and charts. All authors and their departmental affiliation should be included on the top of the poster. Presenters may wish to consider bringing copies of a handout that contains the project title, abstract, authors' names, and contact information to those who would like the information.
