The College Level Academic Skills Test (CLAST) is an achievement test of the communication and computation skills expected of all students by the time they complete their sophomore year. All students are required by Florida statutes and rules of the State Board of Education to satisfactorily complete the Florida CLAST or satisfy one of the CLAST alternate options before the granting of admission to upper-division status at The University of West Florida. It is the responsibility of the student to have Florida CLAST scores forwarded to the Office of Admissions.

CLAST scores are displayed on the SASS audit. If the score meets the sub-requirement, it will be marked with a plus. If a satisfactory score has not been received, then a minus will appear. Alternative means of meeting CLAST will be indicated by scores in the range of 0990 though 0999. Scores that were not high enough to meet the requirement are listed in the non-qualifying score category.  More information concerning the CLAST and alternative methods of completing the requirement are available in the Catalog.
