In addition to installing McAfee, it is recommended that you also download and install other programs that will assist in keeping your computer virus and spyware free. Spybot Search & Destroy can be installed on any computer regardless of the virus protection software you have. Both Windows Defender and Security Essentials can be installed with the McAfee for Students provided by UWF however, we recommend that you choose one. It is not recommended that you have both Windows Defender and Security Essentials installed. If you have any virus, spyware, or problems with the software, you can call or stop by our office for assistance.

Each of these programs needs to be updated periodically to insure that your computer has the best protection possible. The update tool is located in each of the programs and it should be run at least once a week or auto update needs to be turned on.
