For enrollment certification to lenders, the University of
West Florida participates in the National
Student Clearinghouse (http://www.nslc.org/). Beginning the week after the first week of classes,
the University submits a report of students' enrollment status to theClearinghouse
every week, which, in
turn, supplies certification of enrollment to lending
agencies. All deferment loan forms are forwarded to the Clearinghouse. UWF
does not supply thisinformation directly to lending agencies. If a student
has registered late or has had an exception processed to the term registration,
this information may not be reported until the submission of the next file.
The Clearinghouse processes deferral requests within 48 hours.
Don't remember who owns your student loans? Currently enrolled students may check out the Clearinghouse's LoanLocator to seewhat loans are managed by Clearinghouse participants. Students may access the LoanLocator by logging into their secure MyUWF account and selecting the following: Student Records folder > Enrollment Certification Request app > National Student Clearinghouse link > Student Loan Deferment Notication link.
The Clearinghouse asks that if a student receives a collections letter from a servicer, the student should do the following:
