Crystal River Swimming with Manatees: Join Outdoor Adventures as we swim with the manatees in Crystal River, Florida. In the winter hundreds of manatees congregate in the warm waters of the natural spring. You will have the opportunity to swim with and touch manatees with the guidance of a local tour guide. There will also be an opportunity to canoe in the beautiful crystal clear waters and snorkel in the springs. We will provide transportation, canoes, food, and all camping gear. It is a once in a lifetime experience!
Florida Caverns and the Lowest High Point in the U.S.: Join us as we head to Marianna, Florida to visit the Florida Caverns State Park. This is one of the few state parks with dry (air-filled) caves and the only state park in Florida to offer cave tours to the public. The cave has some amazing formations of limestone stalactites, stalagmites, soda straws, flowstones, and draperies. We will provide transportation and entrance into the park. Make sure you bring a lunch so we can enjoy a picnic lunch after the tour. On the way home we will stop and check out the highest point in Florida.

Backpacking to the Alabama Border: Hike 30 miles from Blackwater State Park to the Alabama border in Conecuh Forest. We will provide the transportation, hiking equiptment, and an experienced guide. Participants will be required to carry all their gear, food, and water for the duration of the trip. Some hiking experience is preferred, with students expected to walk for 6-8+ hours a day, over varying terrains carrying a 40-60lbs backpack. There will be two mandatory pre-trip meetings to discuss the trip and ensure proper gear has been packed. Hiking boots that have been broken-in are recommended for this trip.
Caving in Northern Alabama:This will be a real caving expedition with helmets, crawling, and tight squeezes. We will be camping in Desoto State Park. Transportation, a professional caving guide, camping gear, helmets, and food are provided.
Valentine's Day Sunset Dinner Cruise: Join the Outdoor Adventure program for a relaxing evening taking a boat ride out to secluded Fort McRee Island. We will land on the beach, explore the fort, and have a sunset dinner on the beach. We will be providing all transportation and dinner. What a unique way to enjoy an evening with your sweetheart.
Guided Full Moon Nature Trail Hike
Tour the Forts by Boat: Take a boat ride to Fort McRee, play in the sand, bask in the sunshine and explore the island. Outdoor Adventures will be providing transportation, kayak gear and coolers. Students will need to bring beach attire, sun protection, a picnic lunch and water.
|February 22||Day Canoe Trip Down Blackwater River
Come out with Outdoor Adventures and enjoy a leisurely paddle down the scenic Blackwater River. OA will provide transportation, canoe equiptment, and coolers. Our instructors will also be happy to provide some basic canoe instruction, so no prior canoeing experience is necessary to be a part of this exciting trip. Participants should wear clothing they don't mind getting wet and jeans are not recommended. All you will have to bring is water, a bag lunch and sun protection (sunscreen, hats). While on the river we will stop on one of the many white sand beaches and enjoy our picnic lunch.
Spring Break Ski Trip to Killington, Vermont: Everyone comes south for Spring Break. So we decided to go north and hit the slopes! Join us for 5 days of skiing on Killington Mountain in Vermont. It is a large mountain with reliable snow and plenty of terrain for both beginners and avid skiers. We will be staying in a resort at the bottom of the mountain and enjoying a gorgeous view of the slopes every day. Transportation, lift tickets and lodging accomodations will be covered, and the resort has a gear shop for those of you who need to rent equipment.
Minimalist Backpacking in the Sipsey Wilderness: Learn backcountry survival skills while hiking through the gorgeous Sipsey Wilderness area in the Bankhead National Forest, Alabama. We will be providing transportation, hiking packs, tents, sleeping bags, sleeping pads and cooking stoves. Participants will be required to carry all their gear, food and water for the duration of the trip. This trip is recommended for intermediate level hikers. Hang-gliding in Rising Fawn, Georgia: Join us for a highflying adventure and overcome your fear of heights once and for all. For the introductory experience, you will fly your first flights in a controlled environment, surfing the slopes of the small hills, only about 5 to 10 feet off the ground. After your morning session you will fly tandem with an instructor by your side to an altitude of 1,600 feet above the beautiful Lookout Valley. Mild exertion will be required. Outdoor Adventures will be providing transportation and all camping gear. We will be camping out in Cloud Canyon State Park, so there will also be a chance to get some hiking into this weekend of awesomeness!

Deep Sea Fishing: Been dying to go fishing? Well our staff has, so we thought we would invite you to come too! Join us for a day of fishing in the Gulf of Mexico with a local charter company. We will be providing transportation to and from the Marina and coolers for fish transportation. It's a great way to spend the day!
Whitewater Kayaking at Nanatahala:Join us as we paddle inflatable kayaks down the Nantahala River in beautiful Bryson City, North Carolina. This is a great way to experience whitewater kayaking in a beginner-friendly way. We will be camping on the nearby Fontana Lake and doing some hiking on the Appalachian Trail. OA will be providing transportation, camping gear and food.
End of the Year Tubing: Enjoy a leisurely float down the Coldwater River. Transportation, tubes, coolers for lunches, and guides are provided. Bring sun protection, a bag lunch, a change of clothes, and water. End the semester with a nice relaxing day.
