Minimalist 3-Day Backpacking Trip: Have you been looking for a trip to hone your backpacking skills? Have you been dying to learn some awesome survival tip? This trip is just for you. Come hike through the gorgeous Sipsey Wilderness area in the Bankhead National Forest, Alabama. The Outdoor Adventure Program will be providing transportation, hiking packs, tents, sleeping bags, sleeping pads and cooking stoves. Participants will be required to carry all their gear, food and water for the duration of the trip. This trip is recommended for Intermediate level hikers (some hiking experience is preferred, students are expected to walk for 6-8+ hours a day, over varying terrains with a 40-60lbs backpack) the terrain will be varied in elevation and difficulty. There will be two mandatory pre trip meetings that all participants must attend to discuss the trip and ensure proper gear has been packed. Hiking boots that have been broken-in are recommended for this trip.
Sunset Dinner on the Beach: Looking for a cheap way to relieve some stress? Come with us and explore Fort Pickens, play in the sand, or bask in the sunshine. After all the fun has been had, sit back and enjoy the sunset with dinner under the stars. Outdoor Adventures will be providing transportation, good food, and chefs. It is the patron's responsibility to bring outdoor games, beach attire, sun protection, and water.
Halloween Hike: UWF will host goblins, ghosts, games, and spooktacular fun on the family-friendly twilight hike at the boardwalk, followed by a scarier night-hike into the woods using only glow sticks for light! All ages welcome for a night of fun scares.
Bouldering Trip: Join us for a "real rock" climbing experience. We will be bouldering at some of Alabama's premier climbing spots including the Perserve, Palisades and Horse Pens 40. OA will be providing bouldering pads, transportation, camping gear, food, and climbing shoes (if needed). This is a great trip for climbers of all skill levels and those who are looking to get in some outdoor climbing experience.
Full Moon Hike: Join us for a 4-6 mile hike in the woods after dark during the full moon. We will be providing transportation and trail guides. Students will be asked to dress appropriately, bring water, snacks and a flashlight or headlamp. This is a great trip for anyone who has ever wanted to be in the woods after dark and not wanted to do it alone.
|November 23-24||Camping and Fishing at Fort Mcree: Have you ever wanted to camp on an island only accessible by boat? Well here is the trip for you! Come sleep under the stars on the beach and fish in the surf. This is a great trip to get you nice and relaxed before the craziness of the holidays. OA will be providing transportation, camping gear, food, and a boat ride. Participants will need to bring their own fishing gear and beach attire.

Big Bend National Park Thanksgiving Road Trip: Join us for a good old fashion road trip out west. We will be heading to Big Bend National Park one of the most beautiful under visited parks in the nation. Along the way we will visit one of Texas’s many state parks to break up the drive. When we get to Big Bend we will set up camp, do some hiking, swim in the Rio Grande and relax in natural hot springs. OA will provide transportation, food, and camping gear. Come explore this diverse park with us.
