Dog Scoop

We love our dogs! In fact, we miss them so much when we're at work, we had to set up a Doggie Cam to look at them while they sleep on the futon during the day!

[Price] Price was adopted from the Memphis Humane Society in January 1991. Paul thinks he's one of the smartest dogs he's ever known -- and the best-looking Williford male in four generations! In his youth, Price was known as a Houdini. Fences, leashes, chains, even a basement could not contain him. Now, he's just an old homebody. He's a wonderful, friendly, spirited dog!  Nicknames: Pooka Mooka, Pricester Meister, Java Junior, and variations.

[Joey] Joey was adopted through Dachshund Adoption & Rescue in March 2002. He's quite the energetic young fellow, and he's putting the rest of us old folks through our paces. Nicknames: Rocket, Jingle, Squeak, Joseph P. Hotbody.

[Sadie] Sadie was adopted from the Santa Rosa County Animal Shelter in December 2002. She's a great playmate for Joey, but she's taught him some bad habits, like digging holes in clever places in the back yard. She's also very sweet! She'll chase after strangers and roll over so they can rub her belly. Nicknames: Sadie Mae, Mae-Mae, ItchyBon.

[Edie] Edie was walking down busy Scenic Highway in Pensacola when Paul was driving to work one day in December 2003. She was dirty and matted and her hair was tangled with vines. Paul picked her up and drove her home, and Emily cleaned her up. Emily discovered the little dog had no teeth, so we named her Edentée (French for "toothless") -- we call her Edie for short. She's a fine little old lady who hops and tap dances when she gets hungry. Nicknames: Lolly, Kitten.

[Tiny] Tiny is a nine-year-old dachshund that we've been fostering for Dachshund Adoption & Rescue since March. We're starting to think we might keep him! Considering how he digs in our backyard -- and how clouds of dirt follow him around -- we think he should be called Pig-Pen!

We have lost some wonderful dogs over the years. They are remembered on our Dog Heaven page.

Here's a family portrait of us with our "original" seven dogs. Bentley and Schatza share Emily's lap with the white-faced Liebling. Schnapps is in Paul's lap. Caleb is the black dog with the big smile. And Tilli is standing on the stone at the right.
