Last fall, I initiated a research project to explore options regarding better integration of strategic planning and budgeting at the University of West Florida. This research is the first step in a long-term goal to more fully integrate the university’s planning and budgeting functions.

To that end, I appointed a research team to gather information regarding best practices and to solicit input from the university community. The members of the team are George Ellenberg and Susan Stephenson (co-chairs), Colleen Asmus, Carl Backman, Laura Koppes Bryan, Valerie Moneyham (staff to the committee) and Joe Peters.

During the coming months, Dr. Koppes Bryan will lead the research team in holding focus group sessions with various UWF constituencies. The purpose of each focus group is to gather information from the university community with regard to their knowledge and perceptions about strategic planning and budgeting at UWF. Each of these sessions will last approximately one hour.

If you are selected to participate in a focus group, please make every effort to attend and provide input to this important project.
