Dear Colleague:
Spring is here, and that means it’s time for the Tenth Annual Festival on the Green. This two-day, entertaining outdoor event is scheduled for March 26 and 27 and will welcome the Northwest Florida and South Alabama communities to our main campus. Last year, the festival attracted more than 20,000 attendees.
Staff members who volunteer or attend Friday’s events, as work schedules permit, are not required to use leave: but must obtain supervisor permission. Also, please note that there will be open parking during Festival on the Green. I encourage you to join me at the festival to celebrate spring as a time for rejuvenation and renewal.
The festival will include a crafts fair, a dog sports and fly ball exhibition, fine arts show displaying regional works, diversity showcase, library book sale, UWF Honors Convocation and a children’s festival. Events also include an alumni dinner and awards celebration, Time Portal to Your Future, the Time Portal to the Past, new acts on the musical stages and new festival food.
The success of Festival on the Green is dependent upon the collaborative efforts of students, faculty, staff, alumni and community volunteers. It is a monumental undertaking that gets better every year.
